Is the Chesterfield Inn (N. Ocean Blvd., near the pavilion) still in buisness? Every time I go by there when I come to the beach, it always looks deserted. You never see any people around it. Just wondering.
Chesterfield Inn
Not sure whether the Chesterfield Inn is in business, but it really doesn%26#39;t matter. It%26#39;s days are long gone. As someone who once worked at the Inn told me, ';The calibre of people who used to go to the Chesterfield Inn wouldn%26#39;t be caught dead in that part of Myrtle Beach.'; But oh, it used to be THE place. Eating in the dining room was always a treat, and sitting in a rocking chair on the wide oceanside porch was the best way to while away the hours. If you%26#39;re interested in an experience similar to what was once the Chesterfield Inn, I suggest the Sea Island Inn. It is (or should I say was or will be) on the north end of Myrtle Beach and is owned by the same family that once owned the Chesterfield Inn. The old Sea Island was torn down last October, but a new one is scheduled to reopen next year. Wait for it and give it a try.
